London Gatwick Real Ops Jump to forum thread

After a series of successful and a break from Real Operations events at London's busy Gatwick Airport, it's time for another one!

Last decade saw many fantastic events for the UK's South East RTS; this decade we're going ever further.

This year there will be 16 hours of full air traffic control service from 0600Z to 2200Z, and 150 more bookable flights than last year. Last time, pilots said it was the busiest airspace they had ever flown in - but they've seen nothing yet! South East RTS and VATSIM-UK will take the world's busiest single runway airport to the foundations, and are attempting to make a VATSIM World Record: 550 bookable flights and movements in one day.

London-Gatwick (EGKK) is London's second largest international airport and second busiest in the UK. It has the world's busiest single-use runway and is Europe's leading airport for point-to-point flights.

There are over 90 destinations from Alicante to Zürich, from long haul flights to short haul flights, from business jets to airliners, and from luxury carriers such as British Airways to low cost carriers like Easyjet. We have it all!

Non-booked IFR traffic and VFR traffic is welcome, but subject to severe delays as booked IFR flights have priority.

The event is always extremely popular, book your flight(s) now to avoid disappointment. We hope to see you on Saturday 27th February 2010, for the record-breaking Gatwick Real Operations.

Web Services

As you can see we're now back in action!

All systems should be working, however we've had a slight "shuffle" of the addresses for certain things during the recent maintenance - don't worry, all bookmarks WILL work!

The systems are now as follows:

Because of other changes that have gone on, there may be some technical or cosmetic glitches. If you could follow the steps below for reporting bugs/errors, that'd be great!

  1. Visit http://bugs.vatsim-uk.org/

  2. If you don't have an account, register for one (it's quick and easy). When registering please user your CID as your username & then your full name as your display/full name so that we know WHO you are.

  3. Click "Report Issue"

  4. You'll be asked to choose a project (if you're not, you can change your project in the top right hand corner). Choose the system you want to report a bug about.

  5. Complete the form and then click submit.

Your bug will be filled and the web team will be notified

This may seem somewhat different to the norm, however it is simply because we want to look at an easier way of managing support requests. Anyone who emails the web team directly will be pointed in direction of the bugging system (so no trying to jump the queue).

Any general queries or comments, to the usual email address.
