Northern RTSM

My name is Barrie Joplin and I am the Northern RTSM (Regional Training Scheme Manager). Northern has an extremely wide range of experiences on offer, from tiny airfields, through the mid-sized regionals, to the giant of the North - Manchester. My advice to you would be to choose to start at a familiar airport. Once you have the basics, you can diversify into as many airports as you want, with proper mentoring at each. When it comes to doing your C1 rating, you will need to transfer your skills to Manchester.

I would recommend doing your basic training at one of the mid-sized/large airports in the region, simply due to traffic levels. Then, you can move onto controlling any other airfield in the RTS, as long as your mentor is satisfied with your performance on the new airfield.
